26" barrel in .38-40 WCF. Manufactured 1885. An extremely fine condition second year Colt medium frame pump action rifle. This early rifle is the scarce open top variation. It remains in superb all original condition having seen very little use. Chambered for the popular .38 caliber. it sports the full octagon barrel with full magazine, blued finish, walnut stocks, rifle butt with checkered forend. The barrel and tube retains virtually all of their original blue finish with razor sharp edges. Barrel legends are perfect. Just some minor light high edge wear. The frame retains approximately 85% of the brilliant high polish original factory blue finish with minor high edge wear and some minor flaking, mostly on top of frame. The hammer retains brilliant case colors in areas. Checkered walnut forend is near mint, as is butt stock, which is proud to metal with no cracks or chips of any kind. Fine bore and perfect action. An extremely clean high condition Colt open top rifle.
