Baudour, Belgium, circa 1912. Bisque shoulder head incised "F 1". Bald head with replaced human hair wig, painted eyes with lots of detail and shading, multi stroked eyebrows, closed pouty mouth, well-shaped nose, and molded shoulder plate showing neck detail. Original cloth body with elongated flapper-style arms and legs. Lower arms and legs are of composition with very detailed fingers with polished nails, and feet with gold high-heeled pumps. Wearing vintage cotton dress in 1920s style and felt hat trimmed with satin ribbon, but no undergarments. DeFuisseaux created character dolls similar to those done in France by J. Van Rosen and A. Marque, all part of the artistic doll movement which developed in Europe prior to World War I. Sits on her own Fred Langdon signed Windsor chair. Nose rub.
