Serial number is 16596, manufactured in 1893. This gun is an anomaly in that it letters by serial number as a 4 ½” blue gun sent to Colt Agency on December 4, 1893. It is presently a nickel finish gun with a 3-1/2” barrel , Store Keepers model with no provision in frame for ejector rod, in .38 caliber with rubber grips. The gun appears to be completely factory original finish with strong factory legends and 2-line barrel address. It retains at least 90% of the Colt original factory nickel finish and the grips are excellent. Perfect double action timing and lock up but hammer will not fall when trigger is pulled on single action. The screws, hammer and trigger retain generous amounts of fire blue. The bore is strong and clean. Unusual little gun sent to Colt Agency in San Francisco which might explain the current configuration.
