Serial number is 77559, manufactured in 1890. The largest of all the Model 1877 calibers was the .41 Long Colt, a popular caliber in that it was also offered in the much larger Colt SAA revolver. This is a Sheriff’s or Store Keepers Model with the 3-1/2” barrel and no provision for an ejector. It is standard in blue/ case colored finish with black Colt Gutta Percha grips. Most of the original finish has faded to a smooth gun metal gray. The grips are excellent albeit worn a bit on high spots and a bit shy at frame so were replaced at one time. Mechanically, this gun needs attention to the action as cylinder spins and does not index properly. Bore is clean. Has roll die barrel legend. With a little attention to action and grips, nice representative piece.
