.32 centerfire with a 5-1/2" barrel. Manufactured 1880s. Offered is a fine example of an extremely rare factory engraved, long barreled, .32 caliber, seven shot, double action revolver. Examples of this revolver are rarely, if ever, seen on the market. With the addition of factory engraving, nearly all of the original red enamel, and virtually all of the original factory nickel finish, this Merwin is a true collectors prize. It is a seven shot, double action, .32 caliber with the folding hammer feature, and exhibits nearly full coverage engraving in the distinctive Merwin style. The cylinder shows no burn whatsoever with just some minor spots of aging on high areas. The gutta percha grips are near mint, strong colors on hammer, excellent bore with some light abrasion, and flawless function. This is one of the finest examples of this rare revolver extant.
