.32-40 caliber with a 26" barrel. Offered is an extremely rare special order lightweight takedown Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle manufactured in 1907 and chambered for the desirable .32-40 cartridge. Special order features include: 26" lightweight pencil barrel, special front sight, half magazine, takedown and Winchester logo gutta percha buttplate. In addition to the original Winchester sporting rear sight, a tang sight is also installed. Gun is 100% all original. Barrel address stamp is correct for pre-500,000 serial range. The lever and hammer both retain 60-70% brilliant case colors. All screw heads are perfect and untouched. The walnut stocks are original, proud to metal, with no major cracks or chips, just the usual dings with the exception of a 3/4" minor grain separation at base of forend and a small hole on left side of stock. Still retains the majority of their original finish. Frame and bolt retain approximately 95% of the original high polish factory blue finish. Barrel retains approximately 80% original blue finish with a bit of thinning to one area on top. Magazine tube retains virtually all of the original blue finish, except for the handle. Even the forend cap retains about 40% original factory blue. Strong clean bore. Perfect action. Receiver ring retains approximately 30% blue starting to patina. Bolt retains virtually all of the fire blue. Accompanied by an original carrying case made of elk or deer hide with strap. Simply a beautiful never seen high condition lightweight special order takedown in the desirable .32-40 caliber.
