.30-06 caliber with a 24" barrel. The receiver of this rifle was manufactured in 1921. The barrel is dated 4-21 stamped "SA" with Ordnance bomb with the additional letter "A". "A" indicates the rifle passed through the arsenal repair. The rifle sports the type C pistol grip stock and the World War II style rear sight and knobs which would indicate the barrel action passed inspection but was inspected and upgraded sometime during World War II where the sights and type C stock were added. All metal surfaces retain 98% of the arsenal applied dark blue-black finish. Has the milled trigger guard assembly. Wrist is stamped with the proof "P". Has an original sling with the brass frogs. Has an ME reading of 2. Rifling is sharp. Perfect action. Stock is excellent with no cracks or chips. Has the checkered buttplate. Left side of stock does not have any rebuilt cartouche. Built to the National Match type configuration. Wonderful early Springfield manufactured as some of the finest rifles were produced during this era.
