Caliber .38-40 with a 24" barrel. Manufactured in 1886. This Model 1873 exhibits two special order features; the first being the scarce and desirable colored case hardened frame, second being the smooth steel shot gun buttplate. Standard features include; 24" octagon barrel, full magazine, walnut stocks with original Winchester sporting front and rear sites. The barrel and tube are a smooth dull grey patina. The cased colored frame has nickeled out traces of color in protected areas. The original walnut stocks are very good, proud to metal with original finish. Some minor light abrasions and a 1" sliver off right side of forearm at cap. 50% original blue on loading gate, very good original screws, strong clean bore, perfect working order. Nice clean honest special order Winchester. Factory research: Shipped 8-31-1886. 38 cal., oct., casehardened.
