12 bore with a 20" barrel. According to Canfield's Complete Guide To United States Military Combat Shotguns page 137 lists the model 620A trench gun as being manufactured concurrently with the model 520-30 . He further states three times as many model 520s were manufactured as compared to the model 620A. These were manufactured for the government during World War II. This example falls perfectly into the accepted serial number range. Barrel and frame are finished in the dull brushed blue finish (not parkerized). Left side of frame is stamped "620" without the "A" which is proper. Left side of frame is stamped U.S. above trigger guard. Front left side of frame is stamped with a "P" and an Ordnance bomb. Right side of barrel is stamped with the identical "P" and Ordnance bomb. The Stevens barrel markings are stamped on the right side of barrel. Left side of barrel has "12 gauge 2-3/4" chamber", choke not stamped. Has the plain non-checkered walnut stocks with no military stamps, which is proper. Buttplate is plastic commercial (proper). Left side of hand guard/bayonet adapter stamped "S". Vent rib is blue with some freckling. Bayonet adapter has turned a purple hue. Frame and barrel retain most of the original blue with some light edge wear. Two of the frame screws have been lightly marred. Wood stock is very good with original finish and light dings here and there. Perfect action. Clean bore. Has a vintage green canvas sling.
