.458 Winchester magnum caliber with a 24" barrel. This rifle is built on the Mauser action. The 'L' in the serial number indicates Safari grade. Standard features include blued barrel and frame, bolt finished in the white, checkered pistol grip walnut stock with Monte Carlo comb, sharp checkering, Browning rubber recoil pad, sling swivels. Floor plate and trigger guard are lightly etched with gold. Shows some light freckling. The high gloss finish stock is excellent with no cracks or chips. Checkering is sharp, with a couple of minor impressions and a 2" area of varnish loss on the right side above floor plate. Some wear around bolt handle recess and a couple of other very minor spots of flaking, all of which could be easily remedied. Barrel and frame retains virtually all of the original high polish blue finish with a couple of minor storage marks. Ramp front sight does not have the hood. Adjustable rear sight. Front and rear bridge sport scope mounting blocks. Action is perfect. Strong bore. This behemoth high quality Belgium manufactured .458 is an extremely fine example.
