.31 black powder percussion caliber with a 4" barrel. Manufactured 1853. This is a standard Colt pre-Civil War pocket model. All matching numbers including wedge. Features an octagon barrel, five shot, single action. Has a strong New York City barrel legend. A fine 80% cylinder scene. Colt patent on left side of frame. Original walnut grips retain the majority of the original finish. Brass grip straps have not been cleaned and have a nice mellow, original appearance. The remainder of the metal surfaces are a smooth grey-brown patina with some minor areas of salt and pepper on barrel. All original nipples. Indexes but cylinder does not lock into place. Fine bore. Comes in a vintage oak presentation case with brass plaque. Accessories include an original Colt powder flask that is missing one head screw, two minor dents, mustard uncleaned patina with some fire blue on ring. Has a Colt stamped two cavity brass mold, a UMC cap tin, several vintage lead projectiles and a sealed cartridge pack replica. Case has the original lining that is somewhat worn. Nice original pre-Civil War cased set.
