Barrel 18" Cal .30 Carbine. This Carbine is accompanied by the original shipping box sent from the Red River Arm Depot in Texarkana, TX to Mr. Phillip Brown of Leavenworth, Kan. It was shipped on June 12, 1964 via REA Express. An additional label on box reads: "1 EA. Winchester M-1 code 6 Serial No 5706986." Winchester produced the second largest total of Carbines during World War II. Features: parkerized metal finish with walnut stock and hand guard. There are no stamps on the barrel except for the Winchester "W". The stock has the proof "P" on wrist and a white stenciled "18" on grip. No other visible cartouche. It has a type D hand guard, a bayonet lug, front barrel band is stamped "JM", right side safely stamped "M", rear sight stamped "JAO". Gun remains in excellent condition. Metal retains almost all of its military style finish. Wood is excellent with a couple minor abrasions. Action is perfect. Bore has a ME reading of 1/2. Rifle comes with an original sling and oilier as well as an attachment to allow the firing of blanks. Box is also in excellent condition.
