All matching numbers with the exception of wedge (not numbered). Colt New York address on top of barrel, Colt patent on left side of frame. No visible cylinder scene. Caliber .44 Colt. Only number visible on cylinder is a '2' on the back. Loading gate No. 4662. Barrel has been period shortened to 6-3/4". All metal surfaces are a soft grey patina with the exception of the brass trigger guard. Walnut grips are very good but are shy to metal. Action is perfect. Strong clean rifled bore. Fine condition as period altered. Very popular conversion widely used in the 1870s.
