This large early drop point bowie knife features a 10-3/4" blade with numerous areas of blood pitting. The blade has been sharpened. Tip is fine. Has a brass quillon and ricasso. The hilt is a fluted ebony type with brass pommel. Hilt has some minor nicks and there is some verdigris on the quillion. The blade is stamped "New Ulm, Minnesota" but is very hard to read due to the pitting. Comes with an interesting brass scabbard that is stamped "Lower Sioux Agency, New Ulm, Minnesota" that looks to be handmade and constructed with rivets. This is a very large and interesting looking bowie knife, but we have no idea as to the age or history on this knife and is being sold simply as described.
