This is a marvelous example of Steiff's tail-moves-head items, which were produced as high-end novelties by the company in the 1930's. This rabbit is 23 cm, excelsior stuffed, begging, and arm jointed. Her body is made tan colored mohair that has overall light losses consistent with age. Her sweet face is detailed with oversized brown and black glass pupil eyes and a simple red hand embroidered nose and mouth. Her tail-moves-head mechanism is in perfect working order. Rabbit has her trailing "f" button and traces of her red ear tag as her Steiff IDs. This pattern was produced in 11, 15, 18, 23, 29, and 36 cm from 1931-1938. Condition: As noted. This item is in very good condition overall. Provenance: From the Patsy Ziemer Collection; this item comes with copies of the Ziemer family history.
