This lot includes a beautifully gowned Kate Greenaway type lady wearing a large hat. Stands on fancy footed raised rectangular base by toothpick holder on short pedestal. Marked James W. Tufts, #3404. Silver loss, but this is a spectacular piece. Page 146 - bottom. There is also a piece resting on a triangular base with a fancy border with a small owl sitting on a wishbone by a pitcher shaped toothpick holder. Marked Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co., #0807. Condition is very good. In addition, there is a chick that perches next to a wishbone that supports the toothpick holder, which is inscribed "Best Wishes." Marked twice, Derby Silver Plate Co., #2509. Also marked "M&B - Sterling" - ? Tarnished, but in good condition. Finally, there is a branch that goes up the side of this toothpick holder. A small fox reaches for grapes that are attached to the top of the branch along with a leaf. Marked Middletown Plate Co., #07. Silver loss, otherwise good condition.
