Barrel length 24", .22 LR caliber. This fine rifle left the factory as a Model 1922 M1 and was returned to the factory and converted to the M2 style short throw bolt in 1942. It was re-barrelled and is stamped "SA 6-42" with flaming bomb. The bolt is stamped "D 28223-2". It has the Lyman 48 receiver sight. Features the walnut stock with pistol grip and the proper aluminum checkered butt plate. It has the original magazine and sling swivels. Barrel band is stamped with the United States "U". Walnut stock is in excellent condition with no cracks. The floor plate retains approximately 10% blue balance patina. Trigger guard is a blue-brown patina. The barrel is smooth mix of blue and gun metal grey, starting to thin. Action is perfect. A strong, clean rifle bore. Considered by many to be the finest bolt action .22's ever manufactured, this is a big heavy, man-sized .22, manufactured to the highest quality. A wonderful rifle.
