2" barrel in .38 Special caliber. Pistol was introduced in 1957 as the Model 36. This has the flat latch, which was changed in 1966 to the standard, so would place production 1957 to 1965. Other features include round butt, blued finish, six shot, and double action. Hammer and trigger are case colored. Grips are silver medallion checkered walnut with diamonds. Right grip panel is numbered to gun. Gun retains approximately 90% original factory blue. Revolver exhibits edge wear at muzzle and other high edges. Cylinder has drag line and edge wear at face of cylinder. Right side of frame has a small spot of finish wear, along with high edge wear. Original grips are excellent. Bore is fine. Action is perfect. Fine early flat latch Chief's Special.
