2" barrel in .38 Special caliber. Referred to as the .38 Chief's Special Pre-Model 36 with the ramp front sight, blued finish, five shot, double action, flat latch, with case colored hammer and trigger. This revolver was manufactured circa 1952-53 and built on the 'J' frame. The original grips are numbered to gun and are silver medallion diamond checkered round butt walnut grips. Gun retains approximately 90% original factory blue with some thinning at muzzle, high edges of cylinder, and cylinder itself is thinning, as is back strap. Excellent color on hammer and trigger. Some freckling on front grip strap. Strong clean bore. Tight lock-up.
