5" barrel chambered in .38 Special caliber. This is referred to as the .38 Military & Police Model of 1905 Fourth Change. These were manufactured until 1942. The butt of this revolver has the military inspector stamp "W.B." along with a proof "P" and Ordnance bomb. Lanyard ring has been plugged. This revolver exhibits lovely scroll engraving with punch-dot background and sports a pair of near mint ivory grips. The engraving encompasses nearly 80% of the revolver. Retains virtually all of the reapplied blue finish. Strong case colors and humpback hammer. Strong clean bore and perfect action. Lovely near mint as enhanced pre-war Smith & Wesson Revolver.
