Barrel length 26", .45-90 caliber. Cody Factory Letter verifies rifle as follows: Type: Rifle; Caliber: 45/90; Trigger: plain; Stock: checkered stock, pistol grip; Sight: Winchester express; 1/2 Magazine; Shotgun butt; 1/2 octagon listed in description; Shipped June 30, 1894. The only feature listed in research not found on this rifle is that the rear sight is a standard Winchester 3-3/4" semi-buckhorn sporting type. The barrel retains approximately 95% original factory blue, starting to thin on high edges, with razor sharp flats, and legends. Bolt retains approximately 95% high polish factory blue. Left side of frame has approximately 70-80% case colors, some brilliant. Right side has approximately 85% case colors, some brilliant. Brilliant fire blue remains on loading gate. Strong colors on hammer and lever. Fore-end cap is nickled out. Checkered steel shotgun butt plate with teat. Deluxe fiery grained checkered walnut stocks with ebony grip inset in excellent to near mint condition, proud to metal, but there is a 6" age/dryness line on the right side of stock. The forend has sharp checkering with rich grain, with a couple of small dents, left side has a 1-1/4" vertical dent near frame. Strong, clean and shiny bore and perfect action. It is obvious this rifle was extremely well cared for and saw nominal used during its lifetime. This rifle was obviously a special order from someone who knew exactly what they wanted.
