Caliber .38-40 with a 28" barrel. Manufactured in 1887. This is a special order 4" extra length full octagon Model 1873 in caliber .38-40. Other features include full magazine, walnut stocks, rifle buttplate with replaced sporting rear site, and sporting front. All metal surfaces are a dull gun metal grey patina. The barrel having been cleaned at one time and partial thinning of the barrel legends. Walnut stocks are very good, albeit a bit shy at the frame but no cracks or major chips. Buttstock is also a bit shy to the metal with no major cracks or chipping but some grain separation. Left side plate screw is boogered as is lower tang screw. Fully operational. The crown has been chamfered, good visible rifling but dull. Magazine tube has wiped-on finish and several dents.
