5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured in 1945. This is a standard issue Ithaca U.S. Army 1911-A1 with the following features: phosphate finish, left side of slide stamped "Ithaca Co. Inc., Ithaca, NY", right side of frame stamped "United States Property M 1911 A1 US Army", left side of frame stamped "F.J.A." (Frank J. Atwood June 1942 - March 1946). Features checkered trigger, checkered non-spur hammer, serrated safety, serrated slidestop, and serrated lanyard looped arched mainspring housing. Blued barrel has a "P" stamped on left lug. Top slide has "P" stamped on top, forward of rear sight. Gun is in excellent all original condition retaining approximately 95-97% of its original military finish with just some minor high edge wear, storage marks, light drag line, with some thinning at trigger guard and front grips strap. Fine Keyes military grips with reinforcing rings. Comes in a craft style box with one magazine.
