One of the best Victorian late 1800s devil inkwells. Heavy cast metal, possibly bronze, and in excellent plus condition. It has hinged cover and note the snail for covering on head with a frog sitting on its back. The devils tail serves two functions, one as a steady and the second as a handle to pick it up. The ears are open to allow resting places for pens. It is missing its glass well. Otherwise in absolutely beautiful condition with no breaks, cracks, chips or repairs. Measures 4 - 1/4" x 4 - 5/8" at widest points on base x 4 - 1/4" tall overall.
