Made by Co-operative Manufacturing Company in Springfield Vermont 1873. All wood doll with mortise and tenon joints, metal hands and feet painted black; Molded and painted head with carved hair painted black, painted eyes. Quite a lot of wear on the face and head, which is common for these dolls, but body is in excellent condition with minor wear on fingers and toes. Stylish original outfit with nice sewing detail consists of underpants, long tailed shirt with collar and front buttons, white vest with buttons, black jacket with tails and brass ball trim, and matching black pants. Outfit is in very good condition, but shirt and underwear have yellowed, some buttons need to be sewn on, and collar shows wear. Interesting to find one of these dressed as a man, especially in a desirable 15” size. Very impressive doll!
