7.62x54Rmm, barrel length 24". Approximately 150,000 of these rifles were manufactured between 1938-1940. They feature a ten shot magazine and are a gas operated semi automatic with a hardwood stock with finger grooves as well as a hardwood hand guard with four vents, and a forward 6" metal barrel vent. Standard blued finish with cleaning rod, military front and rear sights. Widely used in WWII, this rifle significantly lighter than the M-1 Garand. A very expensive rifle to manufacture. Saw fierce fighting against the Nazis in Stalingrad. Top of the receiver bridge is dated 1943 with star on bridge. Bolt is pencil etched to match frame. Frame, barrel and metal extension retain approximately 98% matte blue. The bolt has a purple hue. The original type magazine is numbered 477. Trigger guard has been pencil etched to match frame. Stock has matching serial numbers stamped on left side. It has a fine bore and action. Superb shiny brilliant bore.
