5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured in 1943. this is a standard U.S. Model 1911-A1 manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co. in Ithaca, New York. It features the World War II phosphate finish. Left side of frame is stamped "Ithaca Gun Co. Inc, Ithaca, New York". Left side of frame is stamped "F.J.A." (Frank J. Atwood June 1942 - March 1946). Has a proof "P" next to magazine release button, as well as a proof "P" on top of slide forward of rear sight. Blued barrel is stamped with a "P" on left lug and a "H.S." on right lug (High Standard). Keyes style plastic grips with reinforcing ring. Has a checkered non-spur hammer, serrated safety, serrated slidestop, checkered arched mainspring housing. This pistol retains nearly all of the military finish with some minor high edge muzzle wear, light take down line, and some thinning on front grip strap. Beautiful high condition World War II Ithaca. All original. No rebuild.
