Barrel length 22", .30-06 caliber. The Johnson is a recoil operated semi automatic rifle with rotary ten round magazine with two piece walnut stock and a metal perforated hand guard. These were manufactured by the Kranston Arms company and were issued in the Parkerized military finish. Historically, they are most noted for their use by the US Marine Corps in the Phillipines in World War II. Rifle is stamped "Made in Providence, Rhode Island" on top of frame. The frame and magazine have areas of pitting and have been refinished in a high gloss blue. The barrel has thinned to a brown patina. Front sight has been replaced. It has the original walnut hand guard. Rear sight is replaced with a sporting sight. Rear stock has been altered with Monte Carlo comb and rubber recoil pad that is eroding. This would be an interesting rifle to shoot, but would make a great restoration project to bring it back to it original configuration.
