C&R, 12 bore, Barrel length 20"Made in 1948. Offered is a United States, Martially marked Winchester 1897 Riot Gun. Features a 20" barrel with flaming bomb stamped on top, 2-3/4" chamber stamped "CYL." (for cylinder choke), with single bead sighting. Left side of frame is stamped "U.S. with flaming bomb". Standard blue finish with walnut stocks. Barrel retains approx 40% original factory blue thinning to grey patina. Tube is grey. Frame retains approx 35-45% blue on both sides. The grooved foreend has a closed 3" stress crack on right side. The pistol grip stock has two 1" long hairline cracks at wrist. The butt plate is aluminum. Bore is fine. Action is perfect. These US marked riot guns were often used as guard guns at military bases and were very popular in Korea. This example obviously has some history behind it.
