Caliber .45 ACP, Manufactured. 1918. Barrel length 5”. Pistol has the left side John Gilbert inspection stamp, left side of frame stamped “United State Property”. Left side of slide has the patent dates with Colt pony in center. Right side of slide stamped “Model of 1911 US Army”. Barrel has the perpendicular “HP” (visible). Fine pair of diamond checkered walnut grips, all proper WWI parts to include: rounded small U notch rear sight, small rounded front sight, long checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat main spring housing with loop. Long smooth trigger, some major pitting on the bottom of frame and trigger guard and the entire pistol was finished in military blue black. Fine bore and action in an original U.S. shoulder holster.
