Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. These rifles were manufactured 1918-1919 using the Pedersen device to allow rifle to chamber the .30 Auto cartridge. They are marked “MK I” on the bridge and have the small ejection port cut into left side of frame. This example does not have the Pedersen parts but is all original finish. Barrel is dated 9-18 and is stamped “SA” with a bomb. Has the World War I black army original finish on barrel and frame. Original rear sight to 2,700 yards with polished face, knurled dished knobs, straight bolt, wide groove high hump handguard with wide finger groove stock, two stock bolts, milled parts and smooth steel buttplate with trapdoor. Stock has the black “P” in circle on wrist. Left side of stock has the “D.A.L.” inspector stamp in rectangle (1918-1942). Trigger guard and floor plate have the more Parkerized finish. Frame has 90% of the blue-black, 70% on sight collar. Barrel is blue. Stock is excellent with usual dings. Has an ME reading of .5 with a bright bore. Nice example of a Mark I.
