Caliber .30-60, Barrel length 24". Offered is a fairly scarce rifle. It is an original 1918 with the original black army finish with the "W.J.S." cartouche on left side of stock, inspector circa 1918-21. Barrel is dated 8-18 and stamped "SA" with bomb. Walnut stock features wide hand grooves, two stock bolts, wide groove high hump hand guard. Forend has clips. Rear sight to 2700 yards with polished face. Knurled dished knobs with no grooves. Gas porthole on right side. Straight bolt. Safety has serifs. Smooth buttplate with trapdoor. Stock has the block "P" in circle and is in excellent condition. Barrel and frame retain the majority of the black finish. Sight sleeve is a blue-grey patina. Bore ME reading is 0 and is bright and shiny. Has proper inspected original sling with brass frogs. Perfect action. Trigger guard retains 95% original finish. Floor plate retains 70% original finish. Excellent example of a 1918 rifle.
