Caliber 7.7mm Japanese, Barrel length 31”. This rifle was produced at the Nagoya Arsenal at the Toriimatsu factory. It has the inverted V front sight with guards, three screw type front barrel band, two piece buttstock with handguard, plum shaped bolt handle knob (numbered to rifle), cupped edge sheet metal butt plate, and monopod attachment at rear barrel band. Rear sight adjustable to 1500 meters with anti -aircraft wings attached. Complete full royal mum on forward bridge. All metal parts are a smooth blue-brown patina. Has an original Japanese thin canvas sling. Extractor is numbered to gun. Knurled safety with notch indicator. Near mint shiny bore. Numbers etched on right side of stock “144168” (?). An extremely fine all original all matching scarce 99 long rifle.
