Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. This rifle was manufactured by Springfield December 1953 to end of production 1957. Bolt has a drawing number of 6528287-SA and heat lot Y01. Barrel is dated September 1955, has an SA No. 6535448, an additional A223A, a large proof “P”, and a large DOD eagle acceptance mark. Type four post-war rear sight. Proper op-rod. Block “P” in circle on wrist. Left side of stock has no visible Ordnance wheel, has a DOD three star cartouche in a 1/2” box used from serial No. 4300000 to end of production. Checkered butt plate with trap. Stock is very good to excellent and all original. Metal retains 90% or better original dark green military parkerized finish.
