Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. This rifle was manufactured by Springfield Armory. Manufactured from June 1943 to September 1943. The barrel is dated 5-43 “SA”. Drawing lot number on bolt is D28287-12SA . Heat lot number is B4A. Rear sight is a type three lock bar with rounded ends. Uncut No. 6 op-rod with short fork follower. Stock has the inspector stamp “S.A. E. McF” (Earl McFarland June 1942 - July 1943). Serif “P” in circle on wrist. Checkered butt plate with trapdoor. Has the early type slotted gas port nut. Top of op-rod is stamped “M”. Frame retains approximately 85% of the military parkerized finish. Bolt and rear handguard bands are blued. Front band is parkerized. Barrel and port are a mix of gun metal grey with parkerized finish. Stock is excellent with unit stamp “Y3” on right side. ME reading of 1. Comes with a period green canvas sling. Excellent mid-World War II Garand.
