Caliber .80 bore, Barrel length 42'. Offered is a lovely 2nd Model Brown Bess tower musket. The lock is an original tower Flintlock correct for the period but is a replacement. The top jaw and screw are also replacements. Rod is a reproduction. Original brass buttplate, trigger guard, nose cap, and four retaining thimbles as well as a brass thumb plate. Barrel has numerous British proof marks, S pattern brass left side plate, original sling swivels, original stock is very good to excellent, lock marks are as strong as new, metal is a lovely even patina mixed with gun metal grey. Very nice example of a early British Brown Bess.
