Caliber .69 bore, Barrel length 44.5". Offered is a type three U.S. military musket in its original flintlock configuration. Dated 1811. Has the integral iron round pan. Lock is original to gun with all original parts. Sideplate is stamped "U.S. Springfield" with eagle and dated 1811 in lower corner. Iron buttplate is dated 1811 at heel. Top of barrel is stamped "U.S.". Left side of barrel has the "V.P." eagle head proof marks. Right side of stock has "T.W." owners initials, Left side has "J.P." owners initials. One piece walnut stock in very good to excellent condition with the only damage being a 3/4" chip at middle right side of forend. Period metal ramrod. All furniture finished in the white is now an aged grey-brown patina with age freckling and salt and pepper at breech. Standard infantry rifle as used in the War of 1812. All original attic-found condition with no alterations.
