Caliber .75 bore, Barrel length 44-7/8". Offered is a rare Revolutionary War French musket that bares the remnants of the U.S. States surcharge stamp on the bottom of forend, it is obviously a period attempt to remove the government markings. Original Flintlock with the Charleville stamp, three band, left side plate stamped "PA", has the Charleville "D" inspector stamp on stock as well as the lock. Rod is period but has been shorted and is the incorrect pattern. Top of the barrel is stamped "PA" as well. All original iron furniture including the rear sling swivel (front is missing) is a dark brown untouched patina. The stock is very good, as found, with chipping at the right plate, a 1-1/2" crack at the left plate and some chipping at the right forearm. All original, honest, clean Revolutionary War musket.
