Caliber .75 bore, Barrel length 45 7/8”. This Revolutionary War musket was built in the style of a U.S. Committee of Safety. The musket sports an American made stock with British pattern hardware that was possibly American made. It has an English trade lock, the front brass trumpet is a reproduction, the ram rod is period, has swing swivels, three original brass retaining thimbles, brass trigger guard, brass butt plate, brass thumb plate. Stock is original, untouched with a wood splice repair at tang as well as a spliced forend 17” from the brass cap. This is typical Revolutionary War American assembled Minute Man musket using trade arts and American made parts patterned after British rifles. Brown Bess style butt stock. A very historic piece in as found condition.
