"Black Army" Caliber .45 ACP, Barrel length 5”. Manufactured in 1918. Offered is a standard, all original Colt US issue Model 1911 pistol manufactured during the great war in 1918. Left side of frame is stamped “United States Property” and has the Eagle Head “S12” stamp. Right side of slide is stamped “Model 1911 U.S. Army”. The barrel has the exposed intertwined HP stamp. Standard features include: rounded U notch rear sight, small blade front sight, smooth long trigger, flat smooth lanyard loop main spring housing, two -toned Colt magazine with no lanyard. Left side of slide has the patent dates with Colt pony in center. Checkered slide stop, safety and magazine release as well as the long wide spur hammer. Gun retains generous amounts of war-time blued finish mixing with smooth patina. Fine bore and action. Sports a beautiful set of diamond checkered walnut grips. Far above average Black Army with a bright and shiny bore.
