Caliber .45 ACP, Barrel 5”. Manufactured in 1943. Offered is a fine, all original early war Remington Rand US Model 1911, A-1 semi -automatic pistol. Left side of slide is stamped “Remington Rand Inc Syracuse. N.Y. USA”. Right side of frame stamped “United States Property M 1911 A1 U.S. Army” Left side of frame stamped “FJA” for Frank Atwood and proof “P”. Has the correct brown plastic Keyes grips with outer re-inforcing rings, re-inforced interior and “K” within a star. Other standard features include: short checkered trigger, checkered magazine release, checkered arched main spring housing, checkered non -spur hammer, checkered safety, serrated slide stop, blued barrel stamped “P”on left lug, “HS” (High Standard) on right lug. Pistol remains in beautiful condition with 98%+ original military phosphate finish. Fine action, bright and shiny bore.
