A: These BB guns were manufactured in Chicago Illinois between1891-1928. The parent company was the American Tool Works which also made the Upton and the Sterling models. This is referred to as the Model 20 that shoots a .104 caliber BB with the round barrel and a walnut stock. It is a single shot and is stamped on top of the pressed fame “Upton Machine Company St. Joseph Michigan patent June 30, 1914 & August 14, 1923”. The factory tools, fixtures, and equipment of the American Tool Works went from buyer to buyer ending up with Markham King in 1929. They had been acquired by Daisy in 1916 which would probably explain the Michigan address. Finished in a dull matte blue finish of which the majority is still present. The walnut stock is excellent but does have a couple of knots and a a 2” small chip at toe. These were manufactured without butt plates. These rifles are rarely seen today.
UPTON LEVER ACTION MODEL 20 AIR RIFLE.
