Caliber 9mm, Barrel length is 4”. Manufactured by D.W.M. for commercial sales in the U.S. This was the first variation produced with a 4” barrel and chambered for the 9 mm cartridge. The magazine is as scarce as the gun. It has an aluminum body, wood base and is stamped in script Cal. 9 mm, no serial or other markings. Has the American Eagle crest on chamber, toggle is stamped “D.W.M.” Front of frame is stamped “Germany”. All matching parts are stamped “95”. Has the scalloped toggle knobs. No safe/fire stamping. Commercial blue with brilliant straw colors on take down, trigger, safety, and extractor. There is a hint of muzzle wear and some thinning on forward area of trigger guard, but overall retains approximately 95% original factory blue. Fine bore and action. Total production of this model is estimated at 600-700. Number 95 is stamped into both the grip panels, has the grip safety, also has the old short style frame. This is an exceedingly rare and desirable commercial American Eagle Luger that appears to have seen little to no actual use. It’s in extremely high condition and one of the most desirable of all commercial Lugers made for export for the commercial trade.
