Caliber .45 ACP, Barrel length 5”. Manufactured in 1944. Standard Ithaca manufacture Model 1911 left side of slide is stamped “Ithaca Gun Co Inc Ithaca NY” Right side of slide is stamped “United States Property M 1911 A-1 U.S. Army” Left side of frame has the “FJA” stamp for Frank Atwood with proof “P”. Has the brown plastic Keyes grips with outer reinforcing ring, reinforced insides with a “K” within a star. The blued barrel has “P” on the left lug and “F” on the right lug. Features serrated slide stop, checkered safety, serrated non spur hammer, the original arched main spring has been replaced with a flat lanyard loop style. (Proper style original type is included) Has a later Colt magazine. Fine bore and action. Aside from some high edge wear and minor storage scuffs, it retains 85% of the original military phosphate finish.
