12 bore, Barrel length 19-1/2”. Manufactured in 1955. Offered is a near mint, Winchester take down Model 1897, 12 bore, riot gun. It was the property of the Illinois State Police and is so branded on the right side of stock. It is cylinder choked, 2-3/4” chamber. Features the factory blue finish, walnut stocks, pistol grip, Winchester logo butt plate, flat for-end with 14 grooves. This shotgun does not appear to have ever been used. It retains virtually all the factory blue finish with just a few minor storage rubs. Even the slide bar retains virtually all the blue finish. Stocks are near mint. Action is perfect with as new mirror bore. Bolt shows no wear. Comes with two Illinois State Police uniform patches. Factory research shows no information available.
