Caliber .223, Barrel length 20”. Colt introduced the civilian version of the AR-15 in 1963 but really didn’t get into production until 1964. This early rifle was manufactured in 1965 and displays all the desirable features of that era. They include: early three-prong duck bill flash suppressor, delta shaped charging handle, waffle magazine, drilled selector and push pins, no-trap butt plate and a triangular composite for-end with black composite pistol grip. Metal retains virtually all the original military style phosphate finish with a few minor storage rubs. Stocks are excellent. Perfect bore and action. Extremely difficult to find early AR-15. These early rifles should prove to be a great investment.
