Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. Barrel is dated 3-1910 and is stamped “SA” with bomb. This is a very early example. Features the short wide groove high hump handguard, wide finger groove stock with single rear bolt. Left side of stock has the original “J.F.C.” cartouche (J.F. Coyle 1904-18). This has been over-stamped “AAP” for Augusta Arsenal rework and/or inspection post World War II. Has the proper rear sight with dish knobs with knurled edges and center line cuts. Straight bolt. Has the smooth steel butt plate with trapdoor, large block “P” with no circle, milled parts, later dark military finish. Sight sleeve shows wear. Stock is excellent. Trigger guard has some minor dents. ME reading of 1 with a fine bore. Excellent example of a refurbished but all original parts pre-World War I Springfield.
