Manufactured in Belgium. This is a Continental Grade Lightening 20 gauge with 28” vent rib barrels choked full over modified. This is one of the highest grade Lightnings made by Browning. Chamber length is 3”. LOP is 14-1/4” to a single select trigger. This gun has to be out of the custom shop as all the information we can find on the Continental Grade deals with the over/under rifle set. It is one of the most exquisite and highest grade Browning Superposed shotguns produced. To begin, the frame is in a coin silver finish, antique. The entire frame is profusely engraved, features four gold inlaid birds on right side set within a wooded scene. The left side features five gold inlaid game set in a marshy scene. Bottom of frame has a gold inlaid duck. Engraver has signed the work (A. Bee). This is the work of master engraver Angelo Bee who worked in Belgium for Browning for 25 years. Even the trigger guard is profusely engraved and actually has a cut out with a gold-finished bird. It has a gold trigger. There is some fine engraving at breach of barrel as well as the forearm release and the bottom of the lugs. Stocks are a high grade, highly finished walnut. The checkering pattern is spectacular in that the border is done in a relief scroll, very Germanic in style. Of course the gun remains in as new never fired condition in the matching factory box with paperwork. An exquisite 20 gauge, custom shop, engraver signed, one of a kind shotgun that is awe-inspiring.
