Caliber .44 bore percussion, Barrel length 36-1/2”. Fairly scarce, full stock, heavy, full octagon barrel sporting rifle measures 3/8” at flats. Wind drift rear sight, dove tail front sight, barrel has two filled sight slots (rear and aft), full striped maple stock, brass for-end tip, rod is retained by three brass thimbles, heavy brass trigger guard, inset brass forearm plate, brass butt plate with additional heal plate, 1/4 moon brass decoration on left side of small PA rollover cheek piece, brass side plate, nickel thumb plate, plain brass patch-box, Lock has engraving of a hunter but no visible maker stamp on either lock or barrel. Wood is very good to excellent with a heal chip retained within the butt plate, two small hairline cracks at side plate and a hairline crack (10”) on right side of forearm. Double set triggers. Hammer does not cock.
