This magnificent sword dates to either the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features high relief, cast end chiseled solid silver, hand chased guard handle and pummel. The handle is wrapped in silver wire and the guard features VAS relief medieval depiction. The Silver still retains a majority of the gold wash and the wire is tight. The original scabbard is fitted with a silver haft and is wrapped in fine kid leather. This museum quality sword remains in beautiful near mint condition as does the scabbard. The blade measures 33" and the overall length is 39". Missing throat and drag.
